Savings Institute was chartered in 1842 as an independent, mutual savings bank. It has headquarters in Willimantic, Conn., and operates branch offices in Brooklyn, Canterbury, Dayville, Moosup and North Windham. Savings Institute is a subsidiary of SI Bancorp. It manages more than $600 million in assets.
