General Info
Westall Architects was established as a sole proprietorship by David J. Westall in 1990 on Spring Street in Williamstown, Massachusetts. In 2001 the firm moved to its present location at 187 Main Street in Williamstown. The firm has grown to three full time designers, plus administrative and drafting support staff. Depending upon the clients needs, the firm offers services ranging from traditional hand drafting and rendering to CADD ( Computer Aided Design and Drafting ) and three dimensional color modeling. Positioned to provide assistance with the smallest residential renovation to multi-million dollar commercial ventures, the mission is to be responsive to the needs of each client. Westall Architects has experience with a broad range of projects ranging from Office Buildings, Educational Facilities, Retail Stores, Nursing Homes, Residential and Commercial Condominiums, Restaurants, and upscale residences. In recent years Westall Architects has prepared plans for several notable projects including the adaptive reuse of the former Plunkett Hospital in Adams for residential condominiums, adaptive reuse of the former Notre Dame Rectory in North Adams to Alumni & Development Offices for Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, conversion of an 1800's farmhouse to Offices for the Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation, Phases 2 & 3 alterations and expansions for BArT Charter School in Adams, renovations to Hoosac Bank Headquarters and TrueNorth Financial Services in North Adams, the Colonial Plaza expansion in Williamstown, and conversion of the Eclipse Mill and Blackinton Mills to Artist Studio/Loft condominiums in North Adams. Current projects include an addition and alterations to the North Adams Ambulance building, alterations to the Adams Co-Operative main branch, and the rehabilitation of the three story Armory and Jones Blocks, and the Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum, in Adams. The latter three buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
