St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Wilkesboro strives to include all who participate in its programs as full and active members of the church community. St. Paul's offers worship services each Sunday morning and Wednesday evening and on special occasions throughout the year. Services are built around our traditional Episcopal liturgy of words of encouragement and faith, prayer, music that uplifts the spirit and gives clear focus to our faith, and a caring ministry. We also involve many members and friends in various informal activities throughout the week. We feel God's presence in the beauty of our surroundings, in the music, in the works of art that enhance our space and add strength to our understanding, and in a strong community of friends. We welcome others to join with us. St. Paul's Church has served this community for 176 years since the first service was held in Wilkesboro in 1836, and since the original church building was first consecrated on this hill in 1849. The church is open to all in the Wilkesboros and Wilkes County and beyond who wish to join with us in an active church life. Our purpose is to nurture inwardly all who participate through worship, prayer, fellowship and study, to reach out to others through service and witness, and to reach upward to God through word and sacrament.
