It also serves foundations and charitable organizations. Berkshire Asset Management offers equity, fixed-income and balanced portfolios. It is a wholly owned, independent subsidiary of Legg Mason, which is a holding company that provides asset management, securities brokerage, investment banking and related financial services. It has more than 20 affiliates in over 10 states of the United States, as well as Canada and England. Berkshire Asset Management is located in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
