Florida Department Of Children & Family s mission statement is to provide safe child care environments that nurture children while in care. The department is statutorily responsible for the administration of child care licensing and training throughout Florida. Its purpose is to ensure that children are well cared for in a safe, healthy, positive and educational environment by trained, qualified child care staff. Florida Department Of Children & Family regulates licensed child care facilities, licensed family day care homes, licensed large family childcare homes and licensed mildly ill facilities in Florida. In addition, the department offers services, such as adoption and foster care, community services, developmental disabilities and refugee services.
