I had a new 30-year roof put on in the fall of 2008. The hail storm of July 2009 was fierce, so as a precaution I asked my insurance company to check out my roof for damage. The insurance adjuster told me that it had been a poor installation job and that my roof (which was less than a year old with a 30-year manufacturer's warranty) looked like it was 6 years old. I have enough damage that I need a new roof again. I wonder now if it's worth it to purchase a 30-year roof?
