Native Wichitan Curtis Walters has started a new business, Air Repair Specialists. It is a full service Heating and Air Conditioning company that repairs and if needed installs new units for commercial and residential customers. They provide twenty four hour service for their customers and charge the same rate regardless of time or date. Walters states, Problems dont just happen between 8-5. There are a lot of people who work second and third shift who deserve to get the same service for the same price. Walters, formerly a hairstylist and business owner for over 30 years has been well educated in good customer service. When asked about this career change Walters said, I will still be working with my hands and helping people, its just now I will be going to the customers rather than them coming to me. I like the interaction with people and the mobility that this career offers. Plans for the business are to start small and focus on customer service. Walters says, The key to good service starts with genuine care for the customer. The customer must fully understand what needs to be done for the improvements and the costs involved. Plans for expansion will be based on market demands, but Walters will be looking for partners rather than employees, stating, In most cases, those who have a stake in a company with their names and reputations attached are very driven to do their best. The Walters name might be a bit familiar to Wichitans. Curtiss father Richard Walters was a hairstylist and a co-founder of Beauty Warehouse here in Wichita. His uncle Bucky Walters also a hairstylist and a well known comedian for his skits and especially his impersonations.
