Robin and Teresa STARRS are the founders and producers of Carolina PIG polish, a FEW years back robin retired from the corporate world of telecommunications and moved to western north Carolina. Where HE HAD a dream and a barbecue sauce recipe. By the fall of 2009 the formula was nearly there. Save for that certain something that would SET it apart from the ever growing selection of sauces already crowding the grocery store shelves. Then ONE CRISP fall DAY. AT a local fall festival. The couple encountered a Sorghum processing exhibit. ONE taste and robin knew that the sweet smoky flavor was what HAD been missing. This changed everything. Robin spent the next several months “tinkering” with a unique blend of spices to give the sauce a depth of flavor FAR beyond anything else OUT there. The Sorghum provides a complex sweetness without masking the spices or dulling the finishing “bite”. In september 2011. Carolina PIG polish finally HIT the shelves. It’s been a long road. But an incredibly rewarding ONE. This product represents the unique flavor and culture of the region where it was born while utilizing local. Sustainable. ALL natural ingredients.
