My husband and I had a weekend getaway in Wheeler two and a half years ago, and Rising Star had just opened two weeks before. A local recommended it, and we were blown away. The food is delicious, the dishes are unique, local produce is used as much as possible, the prices are very reasonable, and the owners serve every meal with a smile. We've been faithful patrons ever since, and will drive from Portland just to have a meal there. I've dined in world-renowned five star restaurants and can assure you Rising Star ought to be on that list! Don't let the the unpretentious exterior fool you; this restaurant is in the business of fine meals, not superficial glitter.
