- Male Infertility“My wife and I had been trying to have a baby for 2 years until we found that I have a severe sperm problem. I had my sperm tested four times and each time the number was decreasing and the last test revealed the count is less than 5 mil. Also, the motility and morphology (shape) were below normal range. My urologist told me there’s not much he could do about it and infertility doctor recommended IVF, which is not covered by my insurance. Fortunately, we had a friend who became pregnant successfully after having treatments from Fortune Fertility Center and we decided to try it. Joanna asked us to give her three months to improve my condition and said her success rate with male infertility is over 95%. I had a weekly acupuncture treatment and took herbal formulas (in pills) for three months and went back to my urologist for another sperm test. This time, my doctor was surprised and asked me what I had been doing. My sperm test was normal in all aspects – count, motility and morphology! My doctor, who initially did not believe in Chinese medicine for sperm issues, told me to keep doing whatever I was doing. We are very grateful for what Joanna did for me. Many thanks to Joanna!” - Jay L., Pittsburgh, PA

- EndometriosisInfertility affects about 30-40% of women with endometriosis and is a common result with progression of the disease. Around 40% of women diagnosed with endometriosis report no symptoms other than infertility. If tests reveal inflammation as a result of endometriosis, the only treatment is to use GnRH agonists like Lupron to inhibit the release of pituitary hormones depriving the endometrium of hormonal stimulus, which causes unpleasant menopausal symptoms.

- Labor and DeliveryIn traditional Chinese medicine, moxibustion is used on people who have a cold or stagnant condition. The burning of moxa is believed to expel cold and warm the meridians, which leads to smoother flow of blood and qi. In Western medicine, moxibustion has successfully been used to turn breech babies into a normal head-down position prior to childbirth. A landmark study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 1998 found that up to 75% of women suffering from breech presentations before childbirth had fetuses that rotated to the normal position after receiving moxibustion at an acupuncture point on the Bladder meridian. Other studies have shown that moxibustion increases the movement of the fetus in pregnant women, and may reduce the symptoms of menstrual cramps when used in conjunction with traditional acupuncture.
