Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative is a customer owned, nonprofit electric distribution utility that serves 55,000 customers in the upstate region of South Carolina. Headquartered in Pickens, S.C., the co-op provides electric service to portions of Anderson, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens and Spartanburg counties. To better serve its customers, the co-op maintains three offices in addition to its Pickens location. These are located in Westminster, Anderson and Travelers Rest, S.C. There are 20 distribution cooperatives in the state. Blue Ridge is the second largest. Together these 20 cooperatives serve more than 500,000 members in over 70 percent of the state.
