DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT see Wendy Gatto. The first time I took my child there, she was pretty cordial (this was just a routine annual exam). The second time I went we were there for more than one serious issue. Normally the MA asks what your concerns are for doctor. I am assuming that since this was "sick" visit, they didn't ask, they just assumed I was only there for one reason. But when I told her as she was walking out of exam room that I had 2 more issues, she turned very rude and said "there was ONLY ONE complaint listed" and "was there something else"? Like it was a HUGE deal for a patient at a pediatrician's office to have more than one complaint. Sorry Wendy, but if you can only deal with one problem at a time, maybe you should switch specialties. There is not way I am overreacting, my teenager looked at me when she exited the room and asked if I thought she was rude. Cindy and Shannon at Carroll Childrens Center are MUCH MORE helpful and will always be my ONLY choice.

I take my 13 month old toddler to Carroll Children's Center, and so far, we have been happy. We see Charles Ashburn and he is both professional and friendly. Whenever we have an emergency or if we just think we have one, they are very flexible to fit us in the same day, sometimes within an hour of my calling them. The only caution I have is that if you call with an emergency, these calls are filtered through a nurse who helps determine whether or not you should come in, who I have experienced can be condescending and not understanding of the gravity of the situation. One time I had an emergency but when I decribed what happened, she didn't think it was an emergency and when I ended up taking my son in, it was deemed an emergency! So use your motherly/fatherly intuition and make your own decision to come in if you think it might be serious. Now that I have that figured out, I can work around it and I'm otherwise happy with the place.
