I never had a problem with doctor Shapiro until today. I was scheduled for an annual Check up at 3.45 p.m. Knowing it was too close to the closing time and he would need to see the x-ray for my kidney stones, I called the office 2 hours in advance to confirm if it would be a better idea that they fax the order to the lab now. That way I didn't have to come up to the office to take order in person and come down stairs to the lab which will delay things. The wait at the lab took so long that at almost 4 pm I wasn't seen yet. I called the doctor's office upstairs to let them know and if they could wait. The office staff said that the doctor would not wait and I had to reschedule. I went up to the office right away and was blamed by the office staff that my I was late for the appointment. First of all, I called in advance to let them know I was coming for sure and would be glad to arrive to the lab well early so that I wouldn't delay anyone. If I had shown up at 3.45 pm and the order wasn't faxed in yet, imagine how long it would have taken at the lab. The doctor was still in the office seeing his patient and confirmed that he would not see me. I wish dr. Shapiro would value patients' time like he values his do much. I took off work early today for nothing.
