• Colonoscopy
  A colonoscopy is a procedure performed by a gastroenterologist who will use a tiny video camera to look inside your colon. You will be given a medication through IV which will make you relaxed and drowsy, but remain awake and cooperative. The medication will prevent you from remembering the procedure, and there should be little or no discomfort.
• Electrocardiogram
  A stress test is used to assess how well your heart is functioning during physical activity. Patients will be asked to walk at a brisk rate on a treadmill while their heart rate, blood pressure, and EKG are monitored. For a Stress Echocardiogram, a cardiac ultrasound will be performed immediately after the exercise. Comfortable, two piece clothing and walking shoes are recommended.

  A colonoscopy is a safe and effective way to evaluate problems such as blood loss, pain, and changes in bowel habits such as chronic diarrhea or abnormalities that may have first been detected by other tests. This procedure can also check for colon cancer and to treat colon polyps – abnormal growths on the inside lining of the intestine.

  An Upper GI Endoscopy is a procedure that uses a long, thin, flexible tube called an endoscope, with a tiny video camera to look inside the esophagus and the beginning part of the small intestine. This procedure can be helpful in evaluating or diagnosing various problems such as difficulty in swallowing, stomach or abdomen pain, and ulcers.

MRI scans may be recommended because other types of x-rays or CT scans will not provide the level of detail your physician needs for a diagnosis.

  Nuclear Medicine is a diagnostic specialty that physicians use to understand and treat diseases in a safe and painless manner. By injecting or ingesting a safe amount of a radioactive isotope – usually with less radiation exposure than a typical x-ray – your physician will get a clear view of a specific part of your body. Nuclear medicine detects physiological changes as compared to diagnostic x-rays or ultrasounds, which detect anatomical changes.

Treatments may include ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot and cold therapies, and traction.
