West High School provides learning experiences for students in grades 9 through 12. It conducts classes in language arts, English, communication applications, reading, math, science, social studies, and health and physical education. The school organizes football, basketball, cross-country, golf, tennis, baseball and softball activities. It operates drama, key and Spanish clubs, as well as a student council. West High School offers opportunities to participate in various student organizations, including the Future Business Leaders of America, Future Farmers of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. It has a parent-teacher organization that works for the overall development of the school. The school also maintains a library that stocks fiction audio books. It is administered by the West Independent School District, which operates through technology, maintenance, transportation, and food and nutrition service departments.
