WPTV, an NBC affiliate, has been operational for more than 55 years. Founded by William Cook and Theodore Granick, it is one of the leading television broadcasting stations in the United States. Headquartered in West Palm Beach, the station broadcasts various programs in Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee, Fla. Spread on more than 70,000-square-feet, it has a state-of-the-art digital studio. WPTV covers a wide variety of programs, such as news, weather reports, educational material, special reports, health and fitness, investigative series, campus placement and educational, and traffic reporting programs. The station has also produced several popular shows, including the Oprah Winfrey Show, Dr. Phil, Ellen, Entertainment Tonight and Extra, Today, the Tonight show, and Prime Time.
