Cont... So I left the vets office in tears. After a few minutes went by I called the vets office to ask why I was not called to approve medical treatment for my puppy, AS WELL AS, not being called Friday morning when my puppy had passed away. I asked to speak with the vet who had treated me so poorly. The receptionist put me on hold & then came back on the line to tell me the vet would not speak with me. Skip to Monday- I received a revised bill with a handwritten note (in the mail) on the bottom saying that all the charges for the "lifesaving attempts" to treat my puppy- even though the vet admitted that they all knew it was too late to save her- had been taken off my acct since they had confirmed that no one had contacted about any medical treatments for the puppy. So this brought the bill to about $200. That was it- no apology to me about this how this situation was handled or even an acknowledgment about how horribly it was handled. Nothing. I did not pay the bill, have not returned to the vet office & have told everyone I know about this incident. I would have been happy to have paid a portion of the bill if I (or my puppy who suffered & died alone in a cage) had been shown any level of basic decency, kindness or compassion. I had picked out a collar & tag at the shelter for my new puppy & at the very least should have been offered these items back, but I was treated as though we were an inconvenience to the vet with no recognition of my loss. I know that some of the vets who worked at this clinic have retired- obviously later than they should have- but if u are looking for a good vet clinic- or just one that can operate with a small level of compassion & professionalism- they are MANY other vets in Monroe & west Monroe who can take care of your pets & u much better than this one.

Provided by YP.comI adopted a dog from the local shelter on a Wednesday & took her to the vet for shots & bath. I told them I was going to pick her up on Friday afternoon so I could be with her non stop over the weekend while she was getting used to her new home. Dropped her off on Wednesday afternoon, called them Thursday at my lunchtime & was told - "she was fine, just a little nervous from being at the vets office". She had recieved her check up & shots & was waiting for her bath. When I arrived Friday afternoon at 3pm I was taken into a room and told by the vet- " that puppy you brought in died." My mouth dropped open & I honestly thought he was mistaking me for another client. He went on to tell me that the puppy had severe diarrhea on Thursday & by Friday morning when they arrived it was obvious she was dying. Another vet at the office began an effort to treat her with iv's & meds but there was no chance she was going to live. The vet then told me that she had parvovirus. Still in shock - I was sent out to the check out desk & was presented with a bill for over $800. I told the receptionist that I was not going to pay this bill bc- not only did no one there contact me to let me know my puppy was sick, they did get my approval for any medical treatment. As well as not contacting me that morning when the puppy had died. I spent all day Thursday and all of Friday up until 3pm not knowing that my new baby was sick & hD died at the vets office. The puppy had died Friday morning & no one at the vets office had bothered to call & let me know. The receptionist then sent me back to the room to speak with the same vet I had just spoken with & he began telling me how I should take this bill to the shelter & tell them they should pay the $800 bill bc they were "adopting out puppies with parvo all the time & just didn't tell people." He went on to tell me that "your puppy probably infected every dog in the clinic". I was so shaken & shocked that I left in tears. Cont...
