- Mental HealthSports Psychiatry focuses on the mental health of athletes, providing a foundation for wellness and, thus, performance. Sports psychiatrists treat general psychiatric conditions but have a particular expertise in managing psychiatric conditions that occur commonly in athletes, such as eating disorders, traumatic brain injuries, depression, anxiety, substance abuse and doping. There is particular need for expertise in prescribing for the athlete, with special considerations for medications which may impact or impede performance or are considered banned substances in a given sport.

- Sports MedicineAs a former collegiate athlete, Dr. Silvertooth has a particular interest in the field of sports medicine. She has been a consultant for the University of Texas athletics since 2011 and has provided expert consultation to players in the National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball and several Division 1 athletic programs. Dr. Silvertooth served on the Youth Sports Committee for the International Society for Sports Psychiatrists and is a mental health provider for Team USA/United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee. She provides evaluation and treatment of psychiatric conditions for elite athletes. This treatment incorporates her integrative medicine background and includes coordination with coaching staff and therapists, when appropriate.
