This program is a disgrace. My son was bullied by older children, he was asked by the bullies to bring money to the program so that they would be his friends. The bullying was so bad at one point, my son would get extremely upset if we even suggested he might have to go to the afterschool program. All of the bullying (physical and verbal) went unnoticed by the staff. Even when the staff returned the few coins my son had brought to give to the bullies, nobody seemed to have any idea that any bullying had occurred. This does not surprise me, since the children are in a large gymnasium, and the staff sit and watch them from a distance with a minimum of interaction. The final straw for me as a parent was when my kindergarten age son told me that he had been shown a photograph of a woman with exposed breasts by two of the older children in the program, and that no-one from the staff knew anything about this. The director's response was completely unsatisfactory.
