- Joint ReplacementDr. Matthew DeWall joined DMOS Orthopaedic Centers in 2008. He specializes in sports medicine of the knee and hip, and is highly skilled in all aspects of knee surgery including partial joint, total joint replacement, and arthroscopic surgery.

- ArthroscopyIowa native, Dr. Joseph Brunkhorst, completed fellowship training in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. Dr. Brunkhorst developed his interest in sports medicine while competing as an NCAA Division I athlete during his undergraduate education at Iowa State University. Prior to joining DMOS in 2015, he also served as a Captain in the U.S. Army.

- Hip ReplacementDr. DeWall is an expert in Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction, knee arthritis and osteoarthritis, and meniscal repair. He uses the latest techniques and technology to perform simple and more complex hip replacement procedures. He has published both textbook chapters and scientific journal articles on the research he has done with respect to the knee and hip.

She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Iowa and completed her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from Drake University.

- Ingrown ToenailsDr. Julie Grundberg is a Des Moines native. After graduating from Dowling and Drake, she joined the DMOS team in 2000. Dr. Grundberg specializes in all foot and ankle injuries which includes but is not limited to plantar fasciitis, diabetic nail care, ingrown toenails, and other athletic injuries. She has a passion for helping others get back onto their feet. In Dr. Grundberg’s free time she enjoys recreational activities with her family. This includes snow skiing, water skiing, boating and traveling.
