  Nick attended Christopher Newport University, in Newport News, Virginia, graduating with a degree in Philosophy and minor in Anthropology in 2002. He worked shortly for the Virginia Marine Science Museum in Virginia Beach after graduation, but then returned to Military work as a contractor in various positions. He then returned to school to attend Law School at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia, graduating in 2017. Nick began his legal career in Currituck County as a Family Law attorney and concurrently accepted a position as the Guardian Ad Litem Attorney Advocate of Halifax and Northampton Counties. Nick joined King Law Firm team in April of 2021 expanding his Family Law practice to include Criminal Defense, where he has quickly excelled and gained many happy clients.

  Before she began her legal practice, Kathryn graduated cum laude from Hollins College with degrees in Art History and French. She went to law school at Washington & Lee University where she was a member of the National Moot Court Team and a Benedum Scholar.  Following graduation, Kathryn spent several years in private practice in Tennessee, focusing on corporate law, including large scale Federal Regulatory and contract matters.  She subsequently moved to Wilmington, North Carolina to be closer to her family.  While in Wilmington,  Kathryn started the Family Law Program at the ADR Center and was Chair of the New Hanover County Commission on Women. She recently moved to Raleigh and joined King Law Firm practicing Family Law.  In addition to her law licenses in Tennessee and North Carolina,  Kathryn is also a North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission Certified Superior Court and Family Financial Program Mediator.   Kathryn lives in downtown Raleigh with her family, including the two most brilliant Golden Retrievers on the planet.

• Sexual Harassment
  Immediately after graduating from Ave Maria, Louis moved to Waynesville, NC and spent two years managing a small law firm in Asheville. While there, he learned about local administrative processes required to file civil lawsuits, how to answer and write interrogatories, how to get the most out of witnesses through deposition, and how to acquire experts to bolster a client’s position. During this time, Louis also assisted with Title IX student sexual harassment hearings and increased his overall knowledge in criminal and civil procedure. Leveraging this knowledge, he helped clients achieve successful negotiations with insurance companies and learned how to apply important aspects of the law in various domestic concerns – such as domestic violence protective orders, child custody matters, separation agreements, and divorce. Presently, Louis is focused on learning all there is to know about Family Law in hopes of becoming a board certified specialist.
