Founded in 1986, Equal Exchange is a worker-owned company that offers organic gourmet coffee, tea, sugar, cocoa, and chocolate bars produced by democratically run farmer cooperatives in Latin America, Africa and Asia. It sells a range of food items that includes baking cocoa, roasted almonds, salted pecans and dried cranberries. The company serves various grocery stores, cafes, bakeries, restaurants, supermarkets, universities and offices. It works in partnership with faith-based relief, development and human rights organizations. Equal Exchange also offers the Equal Exchange Fair Trade Fundraising Program, which supports various school groups and community organizations, as well as offers free fundraising information kits. It works with more than 20 farmer organizations in over 10 countries. Equal Exchange Equal Exchange maintains a location in West Bridgewater, Mass.
