General Info
The Wenatchee World is a daily newspaper published in Wenatchee, Wash., and is circulated throughout the state. It was founded as the Wenatchee Daily World on July 4, 1905, by businessmen C.A. Briggs and Nat Ament. In the 1960s and 1970s, the name was shortened to The Wenatchee World. The newspaper is owned by the families of Wilfred and Robert Woods. It covers news, sports, recreational and weather stories in the Washington counties of Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Okanogan. In the fall of 1999, The Wenatchee World installed one of the most state-of-the-art Web presses in the world. The tower-designed press is housed in the 30,000-square-foot Wilfred R. Woods Production Facility. The KBA Comet press allows The World to produce full color images on every page of an entire press run at speeds up to 65,000 copies per hour.
