General Info

Our visitor center is open 7 days a week from March 1 to October 31 each year. Our daily hours are 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. In the visitor center, you can look a salmon in the eye with our underwater viewing windows of the Columbia River, watch how the dam was built in our 100 person theater or grab a bite to eat from our cafe. As you cross the forebay deck you arrive at the Museum of the Columbia where you can learn about local geology, Native American history, as well as the history of power generation, and Chelan County Public Utility District. Down the gallery you have a wonderful view of the turbine generators as well as many hands-on opportunities to explore how electricity is generated. The Museum of the Columbia is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We also have dozens of acres of manicured gardens and picnic areas that are free to enjoy, including two covered picnic shelters and a large playground for the kids.
