My elderly father was a customer with Amerigas for a few years. When he reached the point that he couldn't attend to his finances anymore my sister and I took over. We found that Amerigas was charging anywhere from $3.80 to $4.72 per gallon for propane they delivered over a two year period. The highest price that propane reached over that period was $3.20 at other places. When I asked about why this was I was told by the manager that that was the daily market rate that day. They also charged a rental fee of $176.00 per year for a 250 gal. tank. I have since found out that this has happened to several different people.
