I have resided in their apartments in Cullowhee since they opened Jan. 2004, except when I went to Iraq to fight in the war. I only stay there because I am too poor to move, unless I become homeless. The landlord/owner (Jim Queen) is the worst I have encountered in over thirty years of renting all over the US. His phone is a just a recording, to avoid responding to complaints; the water was found to have lead in it, and is undrinkable; no air-conditioning; the heat usually does not work in the winter; garbage pick-up was suspended for a month last summer because he would not pay the bill; internet service (required for students at nearby WCU) is frequently inoperable because he refuses to pay for servicing by the internet company (to save costs by maintaining it himself)... my internet was out for TWO MONTHS last summer, and has now been out for a week and a half. After trying to contact him (unsuccessfully) for that entire time, all I can says is: DO NOT RENT FROM THIS MAN
