Founded in 2001, Murphy-Brown LLC is one of the largest producers of pork products in the world. Based in Waverly, Va., the company owns and manages approximately 450-hog farms in the U.S. It also partners with more than 1,500 independent farmers and contract growers in the country to raise hogs. Moreover, the company has teamed up with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission to assist with their Cooperative Upland-habitat Restoration and Enhancement (CURE) program. Murphy-Brown LLC, a subsidiary of Smithfield Foods Inc., is an ISO 14001 certified company.
