Dr. Hovda graduated with high honors with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Augustana College, Sioux Falls, SD; graduated with high honors with a Dental Science Degree (DDS) from the University of Iowa; then received a Masters Degree in the Specialty of Orthodontics at the University of Iowa after two years of specialized training and residency in Orthodontics, also with the highest honors. Dr. Hovda has also received specialized training at the Roth/Williams Institute for Equilibration Specialization, which is the specialty of occlusion (how you bite together). Dr. Hovda researches each patient's bite (how a person bites stogether), and customizes an individual orthodontic treatment plan which is unique for each and every patient . When the patient is done with treatment, they have a beautiful new, straight smile, and a perfect occlusion (bite).
