I have tried a few grooming places but Pet and Things gave what I wanted in the way Maggie should look. Most shih tzus have those ponytails on their heads but we didn't want that. I think that there are 6 areas on Maggie that I requested the cuts be different like her paws. I wanted them trimmed to look like the poodles and got that. I wanted her neck fur and butt buzz cut and got that. And so forth. Her groomer is Carrie, super duper! Other places have a turnover in groomers while this is not so here. I mentioned that Maggie was itching quite a bit and they recommended oatmeal bath, great! The place is not posh looking inside or out. Sometimes, you will be greeted by blasting sounds of barking and/or industrial vacuum cleaning suction. I mentioned that Maggie is afraid of vacuum cleaner suction and immediately off goes the vacuum clean. I have called a day before I wanted Maggie groomed and she got in at the appointment time slot that I wanted. Definitely a conscientious customer service small business setup. Their price is similar to others but everything is included - bath, eyes and ears cleaning, anal expression, cut, brush and style. The dogs are in metal cages while waiting for their turn to be groomed or to be picked up. At the time of this writing, Maggie has had her 2nd grooming there. She will be there for her 3rd and beyond! KEEP IT UP PET and THINGS!
They do a great job, my pet loves his grooming, and I really like their courtesy and helpful service.
This location also grooms cats. My thick-furred cat was shampooed, combed out, and had back nails clipped for the bargain price of $40. My skittish cat did not seem traumatized by the experience.
