We have been etching and involved in making knives since 1972 when Francine began to work with David Boye in Davenport, CA. In about 1980 David Boye developed a cast stainless steel called Boye Dendritic Steel. This steel is in the top 1% of all knives tested by Kim Breed for edge holding. We also use Boye Dendritic Cobalt which David developed in the late 90's. It is cast Stellite. It cuts even longer than the Dendritic Steel, will never rust and is non-magnetic. It's a perfect cutting material for use on boats.
