What a great place. A friend of mine introduced me to it, and now I am a big fan. I like their cozy atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And the food is so delicious. I had one of the specials - Shrimp Grits, which was heavenly. My friend had their Mushroom Enchilada and it was so full of flavor. I wish I lived a little closer - I'd go there every day. I definitely recommend it.

When you first walk in, you think you are in your average Mexican restaurant. Then Chef Jose' comes out and runs down the menu of his Mexican/Itailian fare and you realize this may be something different maybe even great. Jose will do whatEVER you want. If he has the ingredients, you have the meal. I ordered the sea bass which came in a light creme sauce with bits of tomato that was just fantastic...however, I had several bites of the filet my friend was eating and it was absolutely heaven. Literally, the best piece of red meat I have EVER eaten, period! Top quality, prime cut cooked to perfection. Medium rare that quite literally melted in my mouth. I will drive the 40 miles from my home in Norcross for a full portion of that steak, it was that good. Girasoles has been in Watkinsville for 4 years and is an undiscovered gem, although as Athens is only 15 minutes away, I can't help but think Athenians have already made the discovery but are keeping the secret to themselves.

This restaurant is the very best. Jose, the chef and owner, makes this a must go to place. I travel to Watkinsville a couple of times a year and this is the spot we always go to. The qualtity and choice of food is exceptional. EAT!

The food in this place is disgusting. You can tell it's not fresh. The restaurant is also disgusting. The air doesn't work so it's usually over 80 degrees inside. It's full of flies and I've seen roaches. The fridge they have out front has a cracked glass door and you can see that the servers struggle to get it opened and closed. If the front of the restaurant looks like this I can't imagine the back that is hidden from everyone's sight.

This restaurant is fabulous!!!!! It is a quaint restaurant with excellent food. The chef, Jose, will make whatever you ask. You don't have to eat from the menu, you can just ask to speak to the chef and he will come to your table. Just tell him what you feel like eating and he will make it happen!!!
