The Children s Home of Jefferson County provides a temporary, therapeutic home for children in crisis. Established in 1859, the facility offers an array of community-based programs, including case management and prevention. The facility also provides an after care program for children in the age group of 10 to 17 years. Its clinical services include art therapy, sex offender treatment and domestic violence prevention. The facility s art therapy promotes painting, drawing and sculpting skills. Located in Watertown, N.Y., The Children s Home of Jefferson County also offers a variety of recreational activities, such as basketball, softball, soccer, hockey, snowshoeing, fishing, hiking and miniature golf. Additionally, the facility provides afternoon tutoring and off-campus educational field trips.
