The Mid-East Commission serves the residents of Beaufort, Bertie, Hertford, Martin and Pitt counties in North Carolina. It works to provide technical assistance, planning, program management and development and public-private partnership programs. The organization preserves the independence and maintains the dignity of senior citizens. The Mid-East Commission also offers transportation, adult day care, legal services, meals and in-home assistance. It develops an area plan for a comprehensive and coordinated system of home and community care. The organization administers Home & Community Care Block Grant, Regional Long Term Care Ombudsman and Family Caregiver Support programs. Mid-East Commission generates public and private resources to maintain and increase services for adults.
