When I went in they said insurance required that I pay $55 upfront before they could draw my labs. This has never happened in all the six years I've been getting labs, so I protested. Then, assuming things would only get worse under Obamacare, I decided to just pay the $55 and get on with it. I tried to pay with cash, but apparently, this location doesn't TAKE cash. (Which is illegal, by the way.) You have to pay by credit/debit card. When asking for more information about this, I was told that I couldn't pay cash because I'm not paying Quest Diagnostics, all my money actually goes to the insurance company and it has to be processed that way... Since when has anybody ever paid insurance companies for health care provided instead of the health care providers their selves?
