I LOVE THIS PLACE‎ By ITHINKICANTWICE - Sep 15, 2009‎On Friday July 31st, 2009, I attended a parade at Marine Barracks, 8th & I sts. SE These parades are held every Friday from May thru September. Two things happened that night that will be a very significant part of me for life. First, President and Mrs. Obama were the guests of honor at the barracks. I had the opportunity to see them in a setting that was very exciting and patriotic. That is something that I will never forget. Secondly and more personal, I discovered Valarie's Animal Den. I am the owner of two Welsh Terriers which happen to be fairly small and hairy breed of dogs. Valarie's Animal Den are pet groomers and offer boarding as well. She has been in the same location for seventeen years, which should speak for itself, and I can see why. I saw her window which is almost directly across from the Marine Barracks front gate.
