Established in 1946, Thomas Elementary School is a part of the District of Columbia Public Schools. It serves students in prekindergarten through grade six. The school employs a staff of trained administrators, custodians, teaching aides, psychologists and social workers. Thomas Elementary School provides special education for students with special needs. It conducts classes in math, reading, writing, science and social studies. Thomas Elementary School also provides the English as a Second Language program. It organizes field trips to various cultural and educational destinations.
