  In addition to his succesful litigation practice, Richard Seligman's services also include arbitration. Arbitration may be an effective way to resolve disputes and avoid delay of court dockets and the excessive cost of litigation. Often contracts require parties to submit to arbitration as a means of dispute resolution or as an alternative to court. An arbitrator acts as a third-party neutral who decides disputed cases in accordance with prior contractual agreements and state or federal laws which may apply. Typically an arbitrator's decision is a final resolution of the merits of a dispute and is enforceable under state or federal law. Mr. Seligman has actively participated as a litigator in many successful arbitration hearings in construction contract disputes in over 30 years of practice. He has found arbitration to be beneficial to his clients. He offers his services as an arbitrator to other attorneys in a variety of civil disputes.
