I was put up for adoption at by the Lutheran social Services in Washington DC in 1966. I petitioned the courts to have them release my adoption files and The Lutheran Social Services continually refused. Twice the courts ordered them to release my files and they wouldn't. They said I had the name of my birth mother and that's all I was entitled too. I didn't have the money to press the matter. Even though the courts ordered my files released I have given up. Has anyone else been denied access to your adoption files even though you received a court order ? Does anyone else think The Lutheran Social Services not complying with multiple court orders a little strange ? I'm not sure what my options are with out representation. Any advise.
