General Info
Founded in 1976, the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce ( formerly the Ibero American Chamber ) is a membership driven organization that supports the economic development of the Washington, DC metropolitan region by facilitating the success of Latino and other minority-owned businesses and the communities they serve through networking, advocacy, education, and access to capital. The considerable increase in the Hispanic population over the past decades has signified an overall growth in its purchasing power and business ownership, and as these projections continue to rise, the importance of maintaining a stronger Chamber is further escalated. Hence, the Chamber strives to support this development by empowering members, business leaders and entrepreneurs through our networking opportunities throughout the year. These events range from mixers, A.M. Exchange Series, and Power Talks to an annual gala platforms which successfully strengthen partnerships among commercial, non-profit, and governmental institutions. In addition to the networking opportunities, Chamber members are continually benefited through the providence of various services including technical assistance, business ownership development, access to markets, and workforce development. As a membership driven organization, the GWHCC consists primarily of businesses and individuals representing all segments of commerce in the Greater Washington areal, and the diversity of the members mirrors the growing range of the local Hispanic and minority business market. Today, we continue to encourage the creation of meaningful business relationships among members by hosting opportunities to exchange information and ideas. At the GWHCC, we encourage you to join us and support small businesses.
