Great manicure & pedicure. Reasonable time -- not a rush job. Good prices.

About 3 years ago, I found a superb manicurist in a large shop near my Arlington home. Manicures are personal service - an owner can tell each nail technician to follow the same procedure - but a quality manicure ultimately depends on the skill and experience of the individual providing the service and the willingness of the owner to allow quality service rather than pushing customers through like an assembly line. I followed my manicurist to Golden Nail on H St. in Wash, DC which takes an additional hour in transportation but is well worth it. This is a quality manicure that will last over 2 weeks even with heavy daily use of hands - keyboard at work, cooking & washing dishes. Paraffin treatment included in price of regular manicure. Other services also superb - pedi, wax, massage. Prices are competitive. I am not connected in any way with salon or owner - just a very satisfied customer.

Golden Nails - 517 H St NW, Wash DC opened under new management in Dec 2010. I followed a manicurist from a large salon near my Arlington home to downtown D.C. It requires an additional hour of travel time-- it is well worth it. The owner beleives in taking time and care to give a quality services which only takes a few more minutes than poor service and the prices are relatively the same. Parafin treatment is included in the price of the regular manicure. Good selection of OPI and other brand colors. Other services include pedi, waxing, and massage and are superior quality. The shop has been completely cleaned and decorated; everything is kept clean, manicure implements are kept in a sanitizer. Services are by appointment or drop-in. The staff will accomodate requests. I have had manicures regualarly for 25 years and have seen the gamut. Give this shop a try -- you will be pleasantly surprised and find it hard to go anywhere else after receiving this top quality service.
