Family Research Council, founded in 1983, is a nonprofit educational institution. Family Research Council offers to promote marriage and family as the foundation of a civilization. The council's Center for Marriage and Family Studies offers information about the inter-related aspects of family Studies, culture studies and legal studies. The center issues policy papers, publications, sponsors lectures and publishes the monthly email newsletter "CultureFacts." It provides information on a full line of family issues, such as baby care, child abuse, covenant marriage, crime, day care, divorce, domestic violence, gambling, substance abuse and youth violence. Family Research Council encourages public discourse and policies that influences a culture of life.
