- Duration: 1 hour; Free; First time on a bike since childhood? A lot has changed! In this class you will learn the basics of bike maintenance, so you can feel ready to hop back on the seat again. You will learn how to lube your chain, inflate your tires, change a flat, and make some basic adjustments to the shifting and braking systems on your bicycle. Come prepared with any questions you have about your bike, and you'll be sure to get an informed answer. Not only is biking a great source of exercise, but it's a fun, environmentally friendly way to get around. It's time to hop back on, but first, show your bike some love by maintaining it properly! - Duration: 90 min; Free; Join the City Bikes crew on a fast and fun ride through DC's own Rock Creek Park! Enjoy a challenging 15 mile route, which will take you north through the picturesque Cleveland Park and Van Ness to Grant Road, climbing up to 1000ft of elevation. Feel the wind in your hair as you ride into the park at Ross Drive and do a giant loop starting at Carter Barron and ending at Sherrill Drive. Get a killer cardio workout, all the while reveling in the scenic vistas that Beach Drive, Park Road, and Mount Pleasant Street all have to offer.
