I first visited Capital Hill Sporting Goods a few years ago while I was in the city for a weekend. I'm so glad I did!
Looking for that perfect gift for a sports person can sometimes not only be hard but so very stressful. The owner, Rodney was very helpful with making suggestions for me, and he took the time to show me lots of items to choose from. Everything from tshirts, jerseys, caps, sports gear, etc.
The store is very well organized, the owner was courteous, friendly and shopping there was great! I would recommend to anyone visiting the capital city to check it out. It's worth the visit!
I am repeat user of Capitol Hill Sporting Goods. My first experience there was so positive that I have been back for more.
This is the type of place that gives personalized, quality service. It feels like what the world must have been before the giant chain stores and impersonal web outlets. It's a real neighborhood store that's fun to visit.
But it's all about the service. Rodney, the proprietor, is a genuine person:
-He is interested in me and my needs.
-He makes sure he knows what you want even when you don't know what you want.
-He double checks with you before doing anything to really make sure you are not disappointed when the goods come in.
-He actually calls you when there is something to know. I never had to call him wondering what was going on with my order!
-He can get practically anything you need, or at least that I needed. I bought Jersey's and hats for my baseball team. The next year when I needed to supplement my current supply...no problem. Done.
-He is a really nice guy, and look forward to going back.

I have used this store many times for myself, buying gifts and have referred friends. The friends were pleased with the goods (T-shirts) for family reunion and other large order events. The gifts I gave, was very useful and they were pleased to have. My husband and I buy all our sports clothing/goods from this store. I recommend very highly.
I have shopped at this store for years and always found the items I was looking for. The quality of the items are excellent. I brought a leather bomber jacket that was made exceptionally well. I received many compliments with when wearing that jacket. I brought it six years ago and the good thing about it, the jacket will never go out of style. I like the layout of the items because they are easy to see and pick up. The owner, Rodney Smith is exceptional when helping me to make choices for my husband. I would buy the same items all over again. I particularly like the T-shirts with the lagoon "Its a DC Thang". Although, I am not a Washingtonian, this shirt makes me feel like one. I love this sports store, you find a variety of sports wear and your typical but also unique items for your favorite sports team, all for a reasonable price. If they don't have the item right then, they will do their best to go about finding and ordering the item you want. Great customer service, great sports store and reasonable prices, what more could a sports fan ask for!
