My wife jokingly says I'm a clothes snob (I will occasionally pay $1,000+ for a hand-tailored business suit) and I counter by reminding her of my long history with American Gift Center. I've bought ALL of my ties here for 10 years (they used to be in a different location off 19th street). They have tiers of ties, some for $8 or $10 and some for $15. The $15 ties are the SAME quality as $75 ties at Nordstrom or Jos. Banks or Brooks Bros. If you don't care about the name on the back--I promise this is the best thing going for ties. I wear a tie every day for work and get positive comments regularly. I have 80 ties! For other clothes, I think they're comprable to Filene's basement in brands nad prices--which much less selection. The other thing that is a steal are nice quality socks. 3-4 pair for $10? The business owner is nice and proud and very chatty. The look of the place and generic name are average at best. The value for men's accessories is an A+.

I came out here after work looking for ties for a friend of mine and was surprised to see so many varieties in this shop! They are pretty inexpensive, I ended up getting a tie for $15, the brand was one I recognized from Nordstrom where I think they go for about $65. There's also purses, various luggage items and perfumes, so it's worth checking out.

I have purchased my business suits and clothing over the past 4 years and find the prices and quality of clothing to be impeccable. Customer service is great. It's location and name is sort of misleading but I can guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised that the quality is the same as the high end stores with prices at 1/3 the cost. As a matter of fact I am on my way there now to purchase another suit.
