General Info
As a specialty practice serving Washington Courthouse and surrounding communities, our services are limited to orthodontics (braces) and related care. Dr. Thompson has completed both dental school and orthodontics residency. She earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at The Ohio State University, and earned a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies at Jacksonville University in Florida, an ADA-accredited residency program, for two years of full-time orthodontic specialty studies. Every patient is important, so we will work with your general dentist to give you the best Orthodontic care possible. If you have complex needs we will work with you and your dentist to ensure your treatment fits your individual needs. Thompson Orthodontics can accommodate adults and children who desire to have straighter teeth. Orthodontists are dental specialists who diagnose and treat dental irregulatities related to the position of teeth. To become a specialist, orthodontists must complete an additional curriculum beyond dental school, to learn to align teeth. Only specialists may become members of the AAO, the American Association of Orthodontists. Orthodontic treatment has several components. Some of these are: • Orthodontic Examination - Dr. Thompson will conduct a thorough examination and discuss her findings with you, as well as answer any questions you may have about braces and orthodontic treatment. • Orthodontic Records - Once you and Dr. Thompson have decided orthodontics is right for you, we will compile a complete set of Orthodontic Records. These records consist of Orthodontic study models of the patient's teeth, radiographs, and Orthodontic photographs. • Orthodontic Consultation - At the consultation Dr. Thompson will sit down with you and discuss your personalized treatment plan. This is done after a thorough review of your Orthodontic records and examination notes. At any time during your care here, we will be happy to answer any
