The Warwick Police Department is accredited by the Commission of Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. The department provides law enforcement and crime prevention services. It operates detectives, computer crime, community police, animal control and inspection services divisions. It intervenes in cases of burglary, fraud, robbery, auto theft, serious assault and narcotics trafficking. The Warwick Police Department s criminal investigation unit conducts investigations, gathers evidence, arrests offenders, and interviews suspects, victims and witnesses. The department also has a records division that processes and manages criminal records, clearance reports, and search and arrest warrants. It offers bicycle safety and neighborhood watch programs and conducts driver s education classes. In addition, the Warwick Police Department organizes safety-related training sessions for the general public. The department is headquartered in Warwick, R.I.
