City of Warsaw governs the Warsaw fire department. The department provides fire and rescue coverage for 48 square miles. It has mutual aid agreements with 12 area departments that serve 78,000 people. The Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory provides fire protection and emergency response services for the City of Warsaw and Wayne Township with a total population of 38,000. The department also assists the Claypool Fire Department that protects one of the largest bio-diesel refinery plants in the world. In addition to fire protection, it provides fire safety public education ranging from pre-school children to senior citizens in schools, homes, retirement homes and businesses.
