Wow, if I could give them 0 stars, I would. My keys got locked in my car yesterday and I called Tip Top Towing to help me unlock my car! They arrived quickly and after about 5 minutes I was in my car. As soon as I opened my door, I could see that there was damage to my paint, down to the metal, along my drivers side back door, inside the frame, on the drivers side front door, and there is also a gash in two rubber seals between my door and my frame. I immediately asked him if this was typical to have damage like this after he does this and he said no! I paid him and made sure to get his name, Kenneth, took pictures right away, and called my insurance. They said that because I am not at fault that it would "only" be $250... so I called Tip Top Towing! I then called Tip Top Towing to speak with the owner, Travis, to discuss the matter. He said he would not do anything until he looked at my car, which I completely understand! I assumed that as a professional company in a small town, that they would be responsible and stand behind their company name and cover the damage that is done to my car. Also, please keep in mind that I drive a brand new white car that I have worked my butt off for to keep pristine and these are the first damages done to my car, which will eventually rust and show on the white. Before I took my car over for Travis to see, I took my car to my body shop to get an estimate to see how much the damage would cost. It totals $609. 08! Even after showing this to Travis, who did not even acknowledge me when I came in to speak with him, he just walked straight to my car and laughed at me, he told me to hire a lawyer and that I don't need to worry about little things like this. This is a grown man, talking to a woman about her car that HE is responsible for damaging, telling me not to worry about it. He also proceeded to tell me how he helped ME when they went out there... turning it around on me like I damaged my car. I took full responsibility when I paid for them to come out. Past that, I did not pay them to damage my car over $600. He told me how he is, "tired of always going out of his way to "help" people when this is what happens", which leads me to assume that this is not the first time a costumer has contacted him about damage done to their cars and help him responsible. My only advice is that he either teach his employees to be more careful with his costumers' cars, or that he get better and more updated equipment that won't damage his costumers' cars. As a business owner, and one that works on cars at that, it is required by LAW that he have liability insurance for this exact reason. He is refusing to repair the damages that his company did to my car, which are much more than just the money. I will have to take off work and miss classes to have my car in the shop, I will need to pay for a rental car while the paint dries, and now I will be taking out more time and money to take him to small case court so that he will be held responsible for his company. All I can say is that if I had a furniture company, and a costumer paid me to come out and help them put it together, but I put holes and gashes in their walls and door frame of their home, I would go above and beyond to fix the damage that I caused. Poor business management.
