Do not hire this guy. He presents himself as a great guy that you want to trust. The thing is, ask yourself. Have you ever seen a con artist that you didn't like? Very nice guy until you hire him. Lacks basic skills. Maybe he can tile but we never got to that. He destroyed my walls, so we know he cannot frame and the plumbing he did leaked. Soldering 4 elbows right in the open and one leaked. Bathtub drain leaked and destroyed the ceiling below. Destroy may be an exaggeration. It leaked and soaked the ceiling and needs to be spackled where it was taped and repainted. Out of good faith I paid him 10% at contract signing (425.00) got receipt and when he started the job I gave him another $500.00 cash and a $1000.00 check. I canceled the check but got screwed on the cash. That hurts all contractors because I will not use cash as a payment ever again. I could have done this job from the beginning but wanted someone else to do it. Unfortunately I ended up repairing all of his work and completing the job myself. My advice for Franz is work for a Pro as an apprentice and develop some skills and then go out on your own. Or maybe stick to tile work because that is not to technical. He was out of his league and over his Head with the install of my prefab shower bathtub combo. I am a Professional and have been in the trades for years and I knew the minute I watched Franz solder the 1/2 inch copper elbows that he was not comfortable and of course one out of four leaked. That is a bad percentage. There is no excuse for that. Everything he did was a disaster because he did not check the walls or floors for level and that was the beginning of this disaster plus he thinks he is above reading install directions. I have pictures of everything that I will use in court. If you want them posted I will be glad to post them. They are on my iPhone and not linked to my pc. I am done, do not have time to waste on this fool. My advise for Franz: get some experience and then go out on your own or just stick to tile work. You can tile on a wall that is not level but you can not flex a fiberglass frame to fit a wall that is not level. What were you thinking???
