  I recommend Barry Gross. My wife and I had a difficult and troubling non-parent child custody problem. Mr. Gross started a lawsuit and in a very short time-a few months- he had negotiated a very good settlement. He promptly wrote an agreement with many favorable terms, most of which we would not have thought of. It seems he was able to be firm and assertive without antagonizing the other side. We were promptly informed at all times of any developments. Our phone calls were promptly returned whether made in the evening or on weekends. He was very professional but also made us very comfortable. His retainer with us was reasonable and he actually spent only a little more than half. • Spousal Support
  Separation Agreement: A written agreement providing that the spouses will live apart and specifying one or more of the following: support for the child(ren), spousal maintenance payments, division of marital property, responsibility for debts (bills), residence of child(ren), child care and related issues. This agreement must be formally signed and acknowledged and covers the period before divorce but after the separation.
• Annulment
  Annulment: A Court declaration that states that a marriage was never legally valid. After an annulment, the parties are free to remarry. This has no effect on a religious annulment which has separate rules, depending on the individual religion.

  After attending Hartwick College and Albany Law School of Union University, Mr. Parola served as legislative counsel with the New York State Assembly (1971-1976) (1977-1978) and the State Senate (1976). In 1978, Mr. Parola began the first of his eight terms in the New York State Assembly. He specialized in education, budget reform, and elder law until 1993, when he was elected as Nassau County Comptroller. After leaving elective office in 2002, Mr. Parola concentrated on elder law, estate planning, and real estate. In his capacity as the Executive Director of the Town of Hempstead Industrial Development Agency, he oversees programs that provide tax incentives for economic development and job growth.
